¡á President's Message

Osoesaeyyo!!

Welcome to Kosin!! Welcome to KUFSA!! KUFSA is a community of Christians from all over the world gathered here at Kosin University with the purpose of knowing more about Jesus Christ in order to take the knowledge back to their countries and communities and engage society and the world for Christ. The reformed Christian worldview of Kosin is opening doors to all nations, and Kosin, arguably with the biggest number of foreigners in one institution in all Korea, has set its focus at taking the Gospel to the nations and the whole world for the Lord. KUFSA is the forum by which this is happening and we believe God is in this idea and process. KUFSA leadership is delighted to be part of this blessed community and to have the honor of being in leadership in this godly community for the LORD. We are ready to go all the way until the length our period here at Kosin will allow.

We take this opportunity to appreciate President Kim Sung Soo whose vision and initiative has lead to and maintains the international programs at Kosin. He has endeared us with much warmth of his love and care and we acknowledge that we are only here because of his hard work and the Lord's provision. He has given his life to the international students and has worked tirelessly to make our lives comfortable. Thumbs up to President Kim Sung Soo.

The main purpose of our being here is to rejoice in the LORD and enjoy our God as we glorify Him through our daily activities. We will do this here at Kosin, among other things, by studying His word and honoring the fellowship of believers: dawn prayers (sebbio kiddo), Emmaus meeting, chapels, and Sunday worship in our respective churches, among other daily activities as we seek to celebrate the Lordship of Christ in every area of our lives.

As you join this community please remember: Working hard and, as Paul told Timothy, to watch yourself closely and keep your head in all situations (2 Tim. 4:5), is your primary goal as a student and a Christian. Life here can be a blessing and also it can be a trial. You will choose what to do with it yourself. Watch out how you conduct yourself in this different culture away from your people. There are many opportunities to develop yourself and also many to ruin yourself; a sword has two edges. Korea is a blessed nation but also it has its own challenges as with any part of the world in the 21st Century. Be sober and alert and fear God. You faith will be tested and your commitment to God too.
There are many delightful experiences that await any new student at Kosin. Busan city, where Kosin is located, has lot of pleasantries that will make your life here a time to remember. There will be many opportunities to make friends from many parts of the globe and this will enhance your exposure to and appreciation of God's beautiful creation. Beaches and parks are breathtaking especially in summer. Beautiful winter cold (and snow sometimes) welcomes those joining in February or March.

Remember the fear of God and hard work will bring you reward from Him who "rewards those who earnestly seek him (Heb. 11:6)" and ultimately take you His presence.

Life and blessings to you.

Paul Kihiro
